Yakut GRES-2 will be adapted for permafrost
CJSC Yakutskaya GRES-2 (a subsidiary of JSC RusHydro, managed by RAO Energy Systems of the East) has launched active work on the construction site of the station - the installation of piles into the foundation of Yakutskaya GRES-2 has begun. A total of 5000 such piles will be installed, according to the press service of RAO ES of the East. In the near future, OAO TEK Mosenergo, the general contractor of the construction site, plans to expand the scope of work and start installing pile foundations for other structures.
The construction technology is adapted for the permafrost zone and should ensure the reliability of the station foundations. Before the start of the work, the specialists conducted additional soil tests by installing test piles under load. Testing showed a high margin of safety at the site.
Works on construction sites are carried out around the clock, at this stage 167 employees of contractors and 112 units of construction equipment are involved. In addition to the installation of piles, builders are dumping the main site station, the device access roads, the construction of temporary buildings of the construction campus.
The commissioning of the Yakutsk SDPP-2 will improve the reliability of power supply to the capital of the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia and adjacent uluses, displace some of the ineffective boiler houses, transfer their consumers to centralized heat supply. All this in the end will have a positive impact on the ecology of the region.
