Demand for credit holidays has declined, VTB said. Along with this, the number of approved applications has increased.

The bank's specialists analyzed the dynamics of applications for credit holidays from April 1 to May 15. According to the VTB press service, in the first half of May the number of such applications decreased by 36% compared to the beginning of April. In total, from April 1 to April 15, the bank received 87 thousand applications for credit vacations. From 15 to 30 April there are already fewer - only 72 thousand applications. And in the first half of May, 55 thousand applications were sent to the bank.

Less often in April, mortgage borrowers began to apply - a decrease of 18%. In May, the least number of applications for car loans was registered - 43%. Specialists of the bank observed the peak of applications for credit vacations in the second half of April - the total amount of debts for which the borrowers applied exceeded 84 billion rubles. In the first half of April and May, the amount exceeded 50 billion rubles.

Altogether, VTB approved about 200 thousand customer requests for almost 170 billion rubles, which is about 90% of the total number of requests received. Of these, over 70% were issued for cash loans, more than a quarter for mortgages, the rest for car loans.

According to Anatoly Pechatnikov, Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB, the salary clients of the bank have not yet seen a serious decline in income. In his opinion, most of the Russians, who fell into a difficult financial situation, have already taken advantage of both state and banking programs.
