"Competitions of professional skills contribute to the development of domestic light industry", - organizers of the II regional championship of working professions of WorldSkills Russia in Khabarovsk
Domestic and export potential of the light industry in Russia directly depends on the level of training of industry specialists. This opinion was voiced by Olga Dobudko, coordinator of the Fashion Design competence, following the results of the second open championship in professional skills WorldSkills Russia, which recently ended in Khabarovsk.
The event, which has been held in the region for the second year in a row, was organized by the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Khabarovsk Territory, the Khabarovsk Regional Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training in the field of vocational education and the Regional Youth Center "Platform". The competition was held in 14 competencies and brought together over 300 representatives of working specialties aged 18 to 22 years from seven subjects of the Far East.
Thus, 6 participants from three regions of the Far Eastern Federal District - the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Khabarovsk Territory and - for the first time for a regional championship - from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) claimed the victory in the Fashion Design nomination.
The practical task, which the contestants had to perform, consisted of three modules and provided for: the development of a model of clothes for individual assignments with a presentation of the sketch under the motto that maximizes its idea; creation and implementation of the same set of decorative items of clothing elements (women's blouses with a round neckline), as well as tattooing a feminine elegant dress, according to a single sketch, on the tailor's dummy of the proposed fabric.
The creative approach and practical skills of the participants were assessed by a competent jury composed of experts in the field of design, design, modeling and clothing manufacturing technology from leading educational institutions and specialized enterprises of Khabarovsk. According to the results of the passage of all competitive stages, they were recognized as the best:
Zhanna Snesareva, FGBOU VPO "Far Eastern State Humanitarian University" (1st place)
Ushkova Evgenia, KGAOU SPO "Khabarovsk Technological College" (2nd place)
Morozova Victoria, FGBOU VPO "Amur State University named after Sholem Aleichem" (3rd place)
Olga Dobudko, the coordinator of the “Fashion Design” competence, chief specialist of the Khabarovsk Regional Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training in the field of vocational education, noted that this year there was a higher level of skill among the participants. “In addition, we were pleased with the girls' ability and desire to think creatively, which is especially appreciated in creative professions, as well as the presence of a“ zest ”characteristic of each region. At the same time, - Olga Petrovna emphasized, - the work of the contestants showed that if our young specialists have good creative potential in technological terms, they still have something to learn and something to strive for. But this is what such events are good for, because they help to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the training of professionals for the industry, which is useful for the participants themselves, and educational institutions, and employers. And it's great that every year the guys show more and more interest in WorldSkills Russia. Such championships do not just promote the popularization of blue-collar occupations, they set a certain level, stimulate further development, help to reveal something new in ourselves and colleagues, and introduce us to talented and promising youth. And the future of any industry, including light industry, its success in the domestic market, as well as its export potential, directly depends on the level of training. So we can say that with our event we are contributing to the development of the domestic light industry ”.
We also add that WorldSkills is an international movement whose goal is to increase the prestige of blue-collar occupations, the status and standards of professional training and qualifications. More than 60 countries take part in the WorldSkills movement today. Competitions around the world are attended by thousands of schoolchildren, which makes the movement a powerful mechanism for career guidance for young people.
Following the results of the II Regional Open Championship, the Khabarovsk Krai team will be formed, which will be joined by other professionals from the Far East to participate in the 2015 National Championship, the winners of which will be included in the Russian national team at the WorldSkills 2015 World Championships.
