Almazy Anabara company halved diamond production
ALROSA's Almazy Anabara has halved its diamond production this year compared to last year. 1,39 million carats of diamonds were mined. At the same time, the result exceeded the planned volume by 7,9%.
As the NEDRADV, last year the company cut production by 32% due to a cut in the production plan. The plan for the current season has been adjusted to reflect the crisis. The company also produced 156,6 kg of gold and 2,5 kg of platinum, which is 13% more than planned.
According to Pavel Marinychev, general director of Almazy Anabara JSC, next year the company plans to reach the pre-crisis level of production.
“To increase efficiency in mountainous areas, we are introducing the SKRT system, preparatory and repair work of heavy equipment for the next flushing season is underway, working conditions for workers are improving, our rotational camps are being equipped and modernized, commodity and material values and fuel are being imported,” he said.
Currently, Almazy Anabara JSC owns 30 licenses for geological exploration and diamond mining in Anabarsky, Oleneksky, Bulunsky uluses, as well as in the Mirninsky region of Yakutia. Last year, the company produced 3,53 million carats of diamonds and 159,72 kg of associated placer gold.
