FGC introduced the first power transmission line for the Vostochny cosmodrome

The Federal Grid Company has put into operation the first power transmission line for the Vostochny cosmodrome. The voltage was applied to the new 220 kV transmission line at the Ledyanaya substation during a teleconference with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the press service of JSC FGC UES.

FGC UES completed the first stage of power supply to the cosmodrome in March 2014. The modernization of the 220 kV Ledyanaya substation was carried out and a power transmission line was built, which will provide electricity to the main step-down substation of the complex. In the future, it is planned to connect the objects of the cosmodrome to the second substation of the company - 500 kV "Amurskaya". Until 2015, FGC UES will invest about RUB 640 million in the project.

“FGC UES is fully responsible for the external power supply of the cosmodrome and its infrastructure. To date, the opportunity has been created to deliver up to 121 MW of power to the power receiving devices of the complex. After the launch of the cosmodrome to the Amurskaya substation, power supply will be provided for the first category of reliability, ”said Andrei Murov, chairman of the board of FGC UES.
