MINSK Vostok Krai will hold a conference "Demographic Development of the Far East" in Khabarovsk

25-26 May, the All-Russian Conference "Demographic Development of the Far East" will be held in Khabarovsk. The organizers are the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Government of Khabarovsk Krai together with the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion and the Institute of Scientific and Public Expertise.

Leading experts will discuss the demographic situation and migration problems in the Far East with representatives of federal and regional authorities, public chambers, major Russian companies and socially oriented NGOs. The conference will present a vision of the situation at all levels of government - from the federal to the municipal. During the conference, the main directions of the Concept of the demographic policy of the Far East for the period up to 2030 will be discussed, the development of which is planned to be implemented by the Ministry of Regional Development.

The reports on the results of implementation of demographic programs will be made by the heads of the Far Eastern regions. Representatives of the Federal Migration Service of Russia, the Ministry of Labor of Russia, employers' associations and VTsIOM will tell about their views on the migration problem in the Far East. At the "round tables" and panel discussions, experts will discuss support for fertility, family, parenthood and childhood, reducing mortality and supporting active longevity, attracting qualified specialists to newly created jobs; Issues of reducing the outflow of population and the preservation of indigenous small peoples in the regions of the Far East.

During the event, the presentation of the best practices in the field of demography and family policy of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, an exhibition of the Far Eastern Center for Social Initiatives and Far Eastern NGOs, is planned. The participants of the Association “Healthy Cities, Districts and Villages” will present the best municipal practices of Russia in the field of health conservation. And the city of Khabarovsk will formalize the status of a member of the Association.

Recommendations of the conference will be the basis for improving the regional demographic and migration policy in the Russian Far East, developing new solutions at the federal level.
