Appeal Yu.P. Trutnev to the conference participants

Dear participants of the All-Russian Conference
"Demographic development of the Far East"!

In 2013 by the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the development of the Far East was declared a priority for the entire 21st century.

At the same time, as well as more than a hundred years ago, demographic development is a key task of outstripping socio-economic development of the Far Eastern regions.

Today, the Russian Far East is adjacent to the world's largest economies. "Leaving this region without attention would be a manifestation of enormous state extravagance ... And if we do not use our wealth, then they will take them, at least through peaceful penetration, others." These words, uttered a hundred years ago by Pyotr Stolypin, have not lost their relevance today.

New projects of advanced economic development should be accompanied by effective solutions in the field of socio-demographic policy. Its main focus should be the formation of an attractive image of the Far East for families with children, young people and the older generation, for those who are making a career, doing business, investing in the future of the region. To live and work in the Far East should become prestigious.

I expect specific proposals from you that will form the basis for the outpacing demographic policy of the Far Eastern Federal District for the period up to 2030.

I wish you fruitful work and all the best!

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yu.P. Trutnev
